Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is this organization associated with The 422 Sportsplex?
A: No. Mystic Volleyball Club is an independent organization developed by Coach Maddy. We will have practices and events at the Sportsplex, but we are not associated with their business. Coach Maddy will continue to coach youth volleyball at The 422 Sportsplex while running Mystic Volleyball Club.
Q: Do I need a building pass for the 422 Sportsplex to participate in any of Mystic Volleyball Club's leagues, camps, clinics, or open gyms?
A: No building pass membership is needed for any Mystic Volleyball Club activities or events. On the first day of an event, you will only need to check in with Coach Maddy before participating.
Q: Is there a difference between Mystic Volleyball Club and Team Mystic?
A: Yes, Mystic Volleyball Club is the organization that Team Mystic is run by. Team Mystic is the girls' travel volleyball team associated with the organization. Mystic Volleyball Club offers more volleyball opportunities than just the travel club team.
Q: What volleyball opportunities does Mystic Volleyball Club offer?
A: Mystic Volleyball Club offers a try-out-only travel girls' club team called Team Mystic. Young athletes also have the opportunity to play in youth volleyball leagues, classes, clinics, and camps, which are open to boys and girls of the age and skill level specified for the activity.
Q: What is the price of Team Mystic?
A: The club fee for Team Mystic is $1,400, which is split into two payments of $700. Additional payments for the season will be an AAU membership for each player, which is $22, and there will be 1-2 required hotel stays throughout the season. Uniforms are included in the club payment; however, any additional merchandise will be available for purchase through a team store that will be opened at the beginning of the season.
Q: What happens if my child cannot make a Team Mystic practice?
A: There will be no punishment for missed practices as long as a coach is notified at least 5 hours prior to the beginning of practice. Multiple missed practices or missing practice without notifying a coach will result in less playing time in the next tournament.
Q: What happens if my child cannot make a Team Mystic tournament?
A: There will be no punishment for missed tournaments as long as a coach is notified at least 24 hours prior to the tournament. Missing a tournament without notifying a coach will result in less playing time in the following tournament.
Q: How far away will Team Mystic tournaments be?
A: We anticipate keeping most tournaments we will be attending within a two-hour travel time frame. This upcoming season, we will be travelling to a neighboring state 1 or 2 times per team. Each player is responsible for their own transportation.
